The Residents

The home is run by the residents, which are all quadriplegics.

Our residents are:

• Lizette de Beer • Cheannè Etsebeth • Thembi Sibanda • Elmari van der Merwe • Jerome Hannam • Themba Olifant • Jabu Shai • Kallie Smith • Fanie Venter • Pelelani Mini The   residents   keep   themselves   busy   by   painting,   studying,   computer,   puzzles, making cards, reading, watching TV and the daily running of the home and staff. Most   of   the   residents   have   been   quads   for   a   few   years.   Each   resident   has   there own   living   quarters,   which   they   can   furnish   as   they   please.   Some   of   them   still   have the   ability   to   drive   their   own   cars;   they   lead   normal   lives,   have   dreams   and explore life to the full.

The Staff

Our   staff   are   dedicated   and   are   basically   the   arms   and   feet   of   our   quads.   Their duties   range   from   caring   for   the   quads,   e.g.   bathing,   dressing,   and   feeding   and daily   personal   hygiene.   They   then   also   do   the   cleaning,   cooking   washing   and ironing and basic domestic duties. Our   staff   receives   minimal   wages   and   if   we   had   the   necessary   funds   we   would   like to   pay   them   remuneration   that   they   deserve.   Without   our   staff   we   cannot   move forward   as   they   are   the   backbone   of   the   home.   We   appeal   to   the   public   and companies to help us generate funds to pay our staff better salaries.
